Roger Federer dropped the first set 5-7, but then got back to his usual rhythm winning the next 2 sets 6-0, 6-2 vs the 29 year old Tunisian Malek Jaziri in 1 hour & 30 minutes in the 1st Round of Dubai Duty Free Championship 2013.

In the first set, Roger Federer in spite of having three break points couldn't convert any. But, in the 11th game on Federer's service, Jaziri managed to get a break point because of 2 unforced errors by Federer. Jaziri broke Federer to make it 6-5 & then held on to his service to win the first set 7-5 much to every one's surprise. Thou, Federer had a much higher first serve percentage than Jaziri, but clearly the concentration lapse in the 11th game costed him the set. It also needs to be mentioned that in spite of Jaziri's first serve % being only 35%, Federer couldn't break Jaziri's service in the first set.
In the second set, Federer broke Jaziri in the 2nd, 4th & 6th game without much trouble to win the set 6-0 to settle every one's nerves.
Jaziri's only chance in the third set, came in the 3rd game when he had a break point but Federer managed to hold & then broke Jaziri's service in the 6th & 8th game to win the third set 6-2.
Here is the match summary ::::::::::

As you can see, Federer's first service % was only 55, which is almost 13-15% lesser than in matches, where he is playing to his optimum best. Federer was better than Jaziri in every department, just the slight concentration lapse in the 11th game of the first set costed him the set.
Federer will face the winner of Albert Montanes/ Marcel Granollers in the second round on Wednesday.
