This is a challenging and testing draw for Roger and appears to have the toughest one too :(

How exactly are the draws done, after putting one of the top 4 at the head of each section, is there a method, or is it purely random?

Considering the current form, I doubt if Federer may reach quarters at all...But again he is the one and only ROGER FEDERER and I would rather be stupid to write him off...Currently he is clearly struggling against big hitters and defensive base liners...and is occasionally getting surprised by some net crushers...He needs to take on volleys early and move little freely across the baseline. Thankfully his bakhand has shown some improvement...

I do not want to talk about the draw, especially for Federer's opponents, as always the toughest draw... Just wish him more luck, and i'm sure it will be an interesting tournament in particular the QF..

& I disagree with every one that the draw is tough for Federer :). Thou, the Draw is challenging but its not tough. With dew respect to every one, every ATP 1000 title deserves a challenging draw & I am quite sure, draw is equal for every one.

Some one said, that RF is scheduled to play player ranked 46 in 2nd round, 32 in 3rd round, 15th in 4th round, 5th in QF, 4th or 6th in Semi-finals.... Well, that's how its supposed to be. In an tourny which has 96 players and 32 getting bye in 1st round, obviously any 2nd seeded player will play any one ranked between 33 to 64 in the 2nd round...... (whats the fuss about it).....

In the 3rd round, obviously, some one between 17 to 32 & that's how, Julien Benneteau ranked 32 got in 3rd round....

for the 4th round, player ranked between 9 to 16, so Wawrinka/Isner/Tomic fall in that category...................

I really laugh at people who say the draws are rigged.

Let me explain how draws are done.

I am trying to give a tabular or should I say, simpler format on how draws are made.........

As there are 32 seeds in Indian Wells...

No 1 to No. 4 seeded are obviously kept in different corners. Firstly, for the semis, out of 1 to 4, 2 random numbers/balls/slips are chosen... If the 2nd & 4th seeded random no/ball/slips come out, then they play in the semis & vice-versa for the 2nd semi...........

For the QF PLAYERS seeded --- 5,6,7,8 are randomly chosen so that they get to play either 1, 2 , 3, 4 in any order..............it can be 1 vs 5 or 1 vs 6 or 1 vs 7 or 1 vs 8.... Depending on how the random ball/slip/number comes out when the person doing the draw takes it out............

same thing happens for the 4th round ---- 9 to 16 seeded................ Player seeded 1 can face any one between 9 to 16...............

similarly for the 3rd round --- 17th to 32nd seed............

So, at the end of the day, players who have seedings (even if they are seeded 32) have a small advantage as they get to face a lesser ranked player in the 2nd round.......

The unseeded players (even the guy ranked 33rd) can get to play No. 1 ranked player in the 2nd round.......

For me, the most important thing to come out of the draw ---- every one last year was saying last year that the most interesting rivalry in Tennis is now between Djokovic and Murray.

Since, the Indian Wells draw came out, every one is busy highlighting the scheduled QF clash between Federer & Nadal. So, what gives me satisfaction or should I say happiness is that, still the "FEDAL" rivalry is far from over & that in itself is a moment to cherish :).

& of course, if Federer & Nadal do clash in the Quarter-Finals, this will only be the 3rd time in their 29th meeting (this will be the 29th) that Federer & Nadal will be clashing before the semi-final stage.

Only 2 times before i.e. in Miami 2004 & World Tour Finals 2011 (round robin stage) have Federer & Nadal clashed before semi-finals.

Roger has the toughest draw as usual, I always worry about Berdych who lifts his game so much when playing Fed and before that he must beat Rafa!!!

How negative you are about Fed, he did have 3 match points against Berdych in the semi's  in Dubai.!! Go Fed, the GOAT.
