Hey Ken,

Let's reverse the situation and place two young girls and their family in a arena of 16000 African Americans from Compton...Let's say they were strong enough to endure the boos ,the horrible comments and win..Regardless of the prestige or money do you think they would want to play there every again after they have become successful adults.

Come On , We are talking about wealthy.professional ADULTS   booing kids  or allowing their kids to do this ..If they thought the family cheated would'nt the officials of the game have disqualified them instead of allowing them to endure this horrible behavior  demostrated by this  crowd.  You can't stop people from booing but someone should have been escorted out for the racial slurs and threats.. Figure it out the whole world did    lol

When I initially hear that Serena might play, I was extremely disappointed. Until the organizers, both previous and present acknowledge the blatant disrespect towards these young women and their father, returning to this event should not happen. For those of you who are willing to minimize the crowds behavior, please attempt to watch the entire match. It was previously available on YouTube. Serena garnered more respect from me that day than any other athlete. Racism is alive and we'll in this country. "De-Nile" is not a river in Africa .

I think the incident was extremely traumatizing to the Williams family; and their memories of playing there are horrible.  It was never addressed, the tennis world did not and does not care.  I am very proud of the Williams sisters for boycotting indian wells and I hope they never play their again.  It will never be admitted, but it's indian wells and their racist fans loss.
