How can del Porto rise in the rankings after losing to Bautista agut in the second round. And why will federer fall after making the semis. Also what does it mean to defend points

I'll be honest and say I am thrilled to see Wawrinka beating Nadal to win Australian Open. I am excited and hope this result gives Federer some confidence that he can also beat Nadal in the future!

It'll be interesting after the French as Murray can only gain points

The top four are Nadal, Dokovic, Warinka and Murray (by virtue of Wimbledon). The rest are past slams(2012 or earlier) or want-to-be.

Warinka has done the most extraordinary feat in a Grand Slam, get past Dokovic and Nadal. Can't think of who else other than the top four above can do that. Ferrer is the grand slam-less, who hangs in to top four.

Exactly as Wawrinka said, you can be world number two or three and Grand Slamless.

Would appreciate a ranking scenario discussion for Roger after dubai and indian wells.

Now that del potro (finalist last time) has withdrawn & stan, nadal and murray have lost in the earlier rounds, my guess would be roger moving up the table if he goes past the quarters in indian wells.?
