I don't know how the tickets apply, so am guessing here, but would have thought IF they are sold for the afternoon session, rather than on a match by match basis in the main show courts, it would therefore be advantageous to have a player like Federer, scheduled in one arena and Murray in another for the afternoon session, rather than have them both on the same court, with the less interesting matches on the other one. That way ticket sales would, in theory, be more evenly spread in the main show courts. I must admit I am not a great fan of the women, largely because of all the silly shrieking and wailing and do rather regard their matches as padding to the main event. ;)

 Your poiint makes a lot of sense, as I think it's almost everywhere that tickets are sold for sessions not for each match separately. One relative blockbuster per each session on every show court- that seems to be the way organizers are doing it. And that remark regarding padding... priceless, but also very true, as it seems to complement the theory behind tickets distribution just perfectly.
