The match between Roger Federer & Milos Raonic expected to start at about

14.30 EDT or 18.30 GMT or 20.30 CEST or 00.00 IST or 04.30 AEST.

They both have played only once before & that was at Indian Wells in March, 2012. Roger Federer won that tough match in three tight sets..

Phew.... that was a match yesterday. Milos played an incredible match, such a strong first serve. How many straight points did he win again with his first serve? 42 or something, right? WOW!
I get more and more impressed by Milos' tennis if I am honest :)

But back to Roger. Looking forward to see him play again tonight against Monsieur Gasquet. I'm glad he's playing night session again and I will be able to see the match. I really have to stop tweeting while Roger is playing and focus on Roger's game instead of FedererFamily's tweets :) But when I have to watch Roger play on a stream on my laptop, it's always tempting to tweet.

Come on Roger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger came from a set down to beat Milos Raonic 4-6 7-5 7-6 (7-4) in the second round of the Madrid Masters today.

Roger had a rough day today, especially due to the young Canadian's serve - he fired 21 aces in a match that lasted just over two hours. Raonic reached a 100%-quote on points won upon first serve that landed in the field. Roger only saw his first break point towards the end of the second set. Fortunately, he improved on his own serve gradually throughout the match and was eventually able to wrap everything up in the tie-breaker.

Roger will now meet Richard Gasquet (ATP 18) in the third round in Spain's capital. Our champ won nine out of the eleven matches the two have played - losing 2 out of 3 on clay, though.

After escaping with a win over Milos Raonic in a third set tie-break Wednesday night, Roger Federer returned to the court less than 24 hours later and comfortably dismissed No. 14 seed Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-2 to reach the Mutua Madrid Open quarter-finals.

Video Highlights from the match --------

The World No. 3 raced through the match in 58 minutes, hitting 31 winners and breaking the Frenchman three times from six opportunities. Federer faced down one break point in the final game and proceeded to clinch the victory with an ace. Gasquet, a finalist last week at the Estoril Open (l. to del Potro), had defeated Federer in two of their three previous clay-court meetings coming into Thursday’s match.

Federer has now reached the quarter-finals in all nine of his Madrid appearances. He won the title in 2006 on hard courts (d. Gonzalez) and in 2009 on the tournament’s transition to clay (d. Nadal). Should he reclaim the title this week, Federer will ascend to World No. 2, surpassing Rafael Nadal, who lost to Fernando Verdasco earlier Thursday.

Third seed Roger Federer eased past Spain's David Ferrer 6-4, 6-4 to reach the Madrid Masters semifinals on Friday.

Highlights from the match -----------

He will face Janko Tipsarevic who knocked out world number one Novak Djokovic, for a place in Sunday's final.

Federer was unwilling to get dragged into the controversy over the court conditions.

"If you want to be a good clay court player, you must be able to play everywhere," said Federer.

"Madrid has taken a gamble with blue clay. It's always a little different here because of the altitude and we must sit down with the other players to discuss it.

"It is slippery, there's no doubt about that but that has been the case here for a few years. They haven't yet found the perfect balance. Our job each day is to adapt to the conditions that we face."

Federer now stands 26-3 on the season, playing for the first time after a six-week break.
