If you reached this article while searching Novak Djokovic has regained No. 1 & Roger Federer is now No. 2 on 5th November, 2012, read how the ATP Points & rankings look like as of today & how will the Rankings change after World Tour Finals, 2012, see this detailed write-up here :::::::::::

http://www.rogerfede...d-atp-rankings/

In continuing with my quest to make every one of you an expert in ATP Ranking points, here's another important article which I am sure, you will enjoy reading ::::

For ATP ranking points scenario post Wimbledon 2012, see this post ------

http://www.rogerfede...wimbledon-2012/

If you missed reading my previous article on the race for No. 2 between Rafael Nadal & Roger Federer, I will suggest you to firstly read that :::

Here's the link (it had nothing to do with being a Roger or a Rafa fan), was simple practical explanation of ATP points covering even Djokovic, Murray & TOP 8 players :::

http://www.rogerfede...lian-open-2012/

Ok, now, see the ATP ranking points that were announced by ATP on 28th May, 2012 ::: (It is practically impossible for me to cover more players other than top 8, so, if you have any question other than TOP 8, please drop in a comment after Logging in)

Here is how, the ranking points looked like of the top eight players immediately before the start of French Open, 2012 :::

Posted Image

So, as you can see, the battle for No 1 is still more or less between the Top 3 & with Andy Murray already out from the semi finals race, the Top 3 are the players to watch out for :::

Now, these are the ranking scenarios of the Top 3 covering all permutations & combinations :::

Also, you need to be aware that David Ferrer had lost out in the 4th Round of French Open, 2011 :::

So, if David Ferrer loses in the Semi Final of French Open, 2012 to Rafael Nadal --- David Ferrer will gain a net of 540 points (720 points of 2012 - 180 points of 2011 deducted)...

While Tsonga had lost out in the 3rd Round of 2011 & in 2012 reached the QF , so Tsonga will have a net gain of 270 points.

So, if David Ferrer loses in the semifinal, he will still remain No. 6 & Tsonga will remain no. 5 in the ATP Rankings. Tsonga will still be ahead by 55 points.

But, how ever, if David ferrer had defeated Rafael Nadal (would have been a miracle, if it was to happen) in the semi-final & even if he loses in the finals, David Ferrer will regain no. 5 ranking from Jo-WilFried Tsonga.

ATP Ranking points of Andy Murray to be announced on June 10th, 2012 :::

Andy Murray was the losing semi-finalist in 2011 French Open & this year, lost out in the Quarterfinals of French Open 2012.

Thus, Andy Murray will lose only a net of 360 points from his ranking points & there will be no change in his ranking & he will remain ATP world no. 4 irrespective of what happens or who so ever wins, French Open, 2012.

If David Ferrer wins the French Open, 2012 title, will he snatch world No. 4 ranking from Andy Murray?

No, as I explained above, Andy Murray is 2800 points ahead of David Ferrer, so, even if David Ferrer wins French Open, 2012, Andy Murray will be ranked World No 4 in ATP rankings & thus, will get 4th seeding at Wimbledon, 2012.

But, yes, if David Ferrer wins the French Open, 2012, he surely will be ranked world no. 5 in the rankings to be declared on June 10th, 2012..

to be honest,Roland Garros in this year it was so boring
I love this tournament very, but i dont know, I did not enjoy as last year and there was not something special in the tournament
in short, didn't like it
i hope to enjoy at Wimbeldon

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a Roger Federer to smile.

Thanks Kishore :)
