Today (Sunday) the 10th of June, 2012 will surely be remembered for years to come as both Rafael Nadal & Novak Djokovic are chasing history.





If Rafa Nadal has the chance to become the first man on the planet to win 7 French Open titles

while Novak Djokovic is aiming to become only the second ever man in the Open Era history to win all 4 slams consecutively. The last man to do this was the legendary, iconic Rod Laver.



So, let us discuss who has a more realistic chance to achieve this great feat?


If we go by current form, then surely Rafa Nadal has a more realistic chance to bite his 7th French Open trophy






or is there any chance of such a celebration from Novak Djokovic ---

Here is the head between Rafael Nadal & Novak Djokovic :::

Rafa nadal still leads the head to head 18-14.


But, most interesting stat is that Rafa has managed to win his last 2 finals vs Novak.


While Djokovic had defeated Nadal on 7 consecutive times before these last 2 finals at monte carlo open & italian open 2012.

I'm totally with Rafa on this one

Key to Rafael Nadal success will be ::


i) His ability to chase down every ball,

ii) He is learning to be more aggressive & even approaching the net more often.


iii) His service has been above par.


iv) he is yet to lose a set in French Open, 2012 & hasn't even faced a set point.


v) Probably, this year, his performance at French open has been better than all previous 7 years.


JFI, Rafa has lost only once in his life at French open & that was in 2009 in the QF vs Robin Soderling.

Key to Novak Djokovic's success :


i) His morale boosting comfortable win over Roger Federer.

ii) His ground strokes were looking more precise in the semi-final match.


His weak points in the tournament till date has been :


His serve & his temperament.


Also, when it gets heavy & windy, he tends to lose his temperament too soon.

In a nutshell, its going to be a tough match & I gotta say, going by the current form, I will balance it 60-40 in favour of Rafael Nadal.

I am rooting for Nole here becoz of couple of reasons,, Firstly i think he deserves to have the Nole Slam(plain and simple), i thought Nole showed lot of respect to Roger last match by not taking much time between points for instance even tho he likes taking it,, also couple of times he was really sporty, and also his celebration after the win was very respectful, i think he has won my heart,, and also but for him Rafa would have had13 Majors by now,, For me Roger's record of 16 majors is closest to my heart i don't want any body to close in, not even Nole,, I am not convinced that by winning Nole Slam he will be regarded as undisputed GOAT as it has already been achieved by Laver twice over,, and he is yet to complete 1 year as world number 1( i mean to say he still has a long way to go), Even if Nole wins today it will only be his 6 th Major, i think he deserve my support today for singlehandedly safeguardibg Roger's record of 16M which is so close to me. So i am rooting for Nole,,

I'm expecting a, at the least, 4 hour match duel between the two. But Rafael Nadal might come out as a winner in the end. Though I'm not yet really sure if that's what I wanted. Actually, whoever wins is fine with me.

I'm for Rafa here and don't want to explain why. Just because

I'm with Djokovic I hope to win.. In my opinion he deserves to win because it is more player fatigue and suffered in this tournament until he reached the final
especially in the two matches with Seppi and Tsonga he was a wonderful player he is a fighter player.

With all this I am sure that Rafa is the one who will win, Because He Is The King On This Clay Court
