Wow, feels great to be the first to answer..

Yes, I have enabled email subscription of the newsletter & confirmed it too :).

(i) 3 most crazy things that I can do to meet roger :

a) Swim across Pacific to Atlantic to Indian to Arctic.

b ) Climb up Mount Everest with my head on ground & feet on top.

c) Join the WTA circuit immediately so that I can request him to be my mixed doubles partner just for one tourny.

(ii) That special moment when I first saw him was in that wimbledon match vs Pete Sampras. Its still hard to believe that Roger in spite of being a Teenager gave such a tough fight & actually defeated one of the greatest ever champion in such a tight match.

On that very day, i realized that a champ has arrived & today, every one can confirm that.

(iii) I reckon Roger's next best alternative career would have been acting & I am sure, he would have been a very-2 successful actor as he surely is one of the most handsome dudes.

Thou, I am happy that he played Tennis. If by chance, he had joined acting, may be, he would have a great Swiss actor & we would have just missed out seeing this SuperCaliFragiListicExpialiDocious man in action.

Lucky, I am to be born in this Federer era.

Thy name is Roger Federer

Thou, he is greatest ever.

I've enabled and have subscribed to the newsletter!

(1) I'd cage dive into an ocean infested shark territory.

I'd walk 100 miles in the desert just to see Federer play.

I'd bungee jump off of the Eiffel Tower, as well.

(2)The first time I saw Roger was at the Australian Open. His backhand was his one attribute that stood out the most, he almost made it seem effortless. I knew he would rise to be a better player against the rest, and to also make tennis history. Federer also influenced me to get better at my game, as well. i'll never forget his volleying during this games, it was to intense to even put into words. There's no doubt that Roger Federer had revolutionized tennis forever.

(3) I think Federer's next best career would be a promoter for sport's brands as a legendary tennis player. He's obviously a good business man by being with Wilson and Nike during his tennis career. i can see him being a promoter and sports model for the top major brands, like Nike, Adidas,Under Armour, etc.

1)
a. I have crawled under a group of people to get to just see, Roger. He is my idol. He has been my idol, since I was a young teenager. I loved him before he was number 1, when he broke into the top 10 at number 8 (his lucky number)
b. I would do anything. He is my hero. I would give away whatever I could just to see him.
c. I actually spent 7 hours in 100 degree weather just to see him practice.

2) I have been going to a Masters tournament every year since I was 13 to see Federer. Last year, we moved, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to. I convinced a friend who doesn't like a tennis and begged another friend for tickets and drove five hours through a thunderstorm. My main goal was to get a picture. Every year, I waited at least 6 hours in the sun to meet him, but I would only get an autograph. This time I was determined to get a picture. I had my sign that I made the year before (that he signed) that said "You'll always be my number 1 Federer" He smiled at it during practice, but then he didn't come in my direction and I was devestated, because I only had tickets for that day. I asked around until I finally found someone who had tickets for the next day. I found out he was practicing at 2, so I woke up at 7, wore the same shirt he was wearing the day before when I saw him and my RF hat and headed to the courts. He was an hour late, because of a hold up in an interview, but I continued waiting. After he finished he got up and headed in my direction. I was sooo nervous and hyperventilating. He picked up my sign and I said "You already signed it, Roger. I have been trying to get a picture with you since I was 13 and I'm 20 now!" He responded "You're all grown up now" and posed for a picture. My friend (who is now a devote Federer fan) was soooo excited as well. He signed my hat too. I asked if I could have his wrist band and he said "I left it back at the chair," to which I said "Can you go get it?" He said "I'm sorry I don't want to walk through the crowd." He was sooo amazing, and I couldn't get anymore tickets to the tournament, and I doubt I will be able to go this year, but needless to say, after several severe sunburns and a few years, it was a priceless moment.

3) Supporting his foundation. He is such a genuinely caring person, and it is obvious that he is as passionate about his foundation as he is about tennis.

First, yes I have subscribed the newsletter.

Second, my answers.

#1: - I will hit the securities just to enter his house, no matter what happens to me after that.
- I will travel by the car to Switzerland from Dubai to meet him.
- I will climb all the mountains I have to climb, and swim in all of the oceans to reach the place Roger's in.

#2: The first time I saw Roger Federer was in his match against Rafael Nadal in Wimbledon 2007 final. When I saw Roger's strong shots, I had a feeling that he is going to win this match, and he did. I had a feeling that he is first, and he was. I heard the commentator saying a lot of tournaments Roger won in tennis, and Roger's history. I liked him very much, because of his history, and because of who he is. Years later, he won a lot of tournaments, and he made history with thousands of records. I cried for his loss twice, because he never deserved to lose his #1 ranking. Now, he's fighting to come back, and I assure that he will come back, because he is peRFect.

#3: I think Roger will be an actor. He can make a great actor in drama, comedy, action, tragedy, and every type of movies. He is perfect at everything. A lot of athletes are in movies right now, so when Roger starts his acting career, he will be asked by directors for many movies. If Roger is in movies that are unknown, it will be popular in less than 24 hours, you will see the cinema full of people trying to watch Roger's movies. At the end, he will be remembered as the greatest tennis player in history, before being a perfect actor, because any tennis fan cannot forget Roger Federer.

1_ look what can i do to meet federer because i love and adore this man:
do you want crazy things? ya?

a) i am afraid of Narrow places, but I'm ready to sit in a confined space underground for days.
B) i will sit in a cage full of snakes.
c) i will travel from my village to a place to meet Federer on foot.

2_ Unfortunately, I did not see Federer personally I dream of this every day.
But the first time I've seen him it was on TV, through a match at Wimbledon(I have a weak memory) I do not remember with whom he was playing and in which year? All I remember that he won this match when he receives the cup was wearing white clothes and gold. I liked his game and his performance, and of course, his beauty, especially the thing that attracted me his nose :P
From this match I learned the laws and the rules of a game of tennis

3_ I do not like to see Federer out-of-sport, so
I think Federer's next best career would be, a Model, Sure, sportswear model coz he is very handsome and dandy . Or he will be a Tennis coach I see him in the future he will be David Goffen coach :)
Because it would be a great and a successful coach, through his training for any player, Fed will give him a ride to the summit

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a Roger Federer to smile.

Thanks Kishore :)

I will walk to the place where he can meet me, will learn the language that he wants to talk with me, and of course to say something back .. despite my enormous nerves! I would do anything for it!

(2) Describe that special moment (in not less than 100 words) when you first saw Roger Federer live on TV or in person?
When I first saw him on TV I don't know anymore, but every match on TV i have to see. If I'm not home, record it with the video recorder and I watch it later.
I saw him for the first time in real at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. that was so great, I've saw him win the finals and that was fantastic. but... i want to meet him like talking to him and take some pictures!

(3) According to you, what will be Roger Federer's next best career than tennis, and why?(Describe in 100 words or more).
I prefer to see him tennis all his life, but I know that's impossible. I think he possesses the qualities to be a good coach for a new and younger player! And offcourse a wonderfull husband and dad!

Yes, I have enabled email subscription of the newsletter & confirmed it too.

1) I would get up at any time at night to go and meet him in person and would wait for him as many hours as he wants.
2) First time I saw Roger play at Wimbledon 2001 against Pete Sampras. At that time I lived in Ukraine and the Wimbledon tournament was the only tournament that I was able to see full coverage. Also, in 2001 Pete Sampras was my favorite player to watch. But that game change everything for me - Roger was different, he played differently. I saw beautiful strokes, smooth movement, his passion, and champion's cool. It was amazing. Since then nobody excisted except him.
Also, I was lucky to meet him in person. It happened last year before the US Open. The mercedz Benz organized an event - tweet rally to US Open. It was unforgettable. I remember that Roger and some others posted on Facebook that he will greet fans at this event. It was hard to believe. When I arrived to the place, there were more than a hundred people in front of me - I was there 2 hours before the appointed time. Roger was great, he stayed for more an hour and met lots of fans. When it was my turn, I came up to him and forgot everything I wanted to ask him. I only remember saying that he is an amazing player. He was very cool and down to Earth. He started to ask me some questions and even offered to autograph my RF hat (I completely forgot).

3) I think he might be a good psychologist, maybe even for police. He is very calm and collected.

I've subscribed to and confirmed the newsletter!!

1) a) I would sky-dive close to his house in Switzerland to meet him when he is at home there.
B) I would walk through a thunderstorm to see him practicing at the nets in an indoor court (because it would be raining)
c) I would start playing professional tennis and sign up to the ATP to play against him in a singles match or be his doubles partner.

2) I first saw Roger Federer live on TV in his fourth round Wimbledon match against Pete Sampras in 2001. Although I was only 9 years old at the time, I had understood the basics of the game and had known what a big match this was since it involved Pete Sampras who, at the time, was a household name when it came to tennis. It was a match with great shots being played throughout from both players. The match ended up going to a 5th set which federer eventually won and therefore, he won the match. Federer had defeated the Grand Slam record holder and winner of the most wimbledon titles. Looking back, this was a great moment for him in his tennis career. At the time of this match, it was the grand slam record holder and number one seed Pete Sampras against a virtually unknown Roger Federer but looking back at it now, it was really a match against two champions, one with the records already under his belt and the other who would break the records as the years went by. It was as if the mantle was being passed on in this match from Sampras to Federer because it was the only match they played against each other (excluding exhibitions). Sampras would soon retire in 2002 and Federer would go on to make history. This is the reason why this match is so important to me because it represents a turning point in tennis history that saw the birth of a new champion.

3) I believe that Roger's next best career would be humanitarian work. He has done so much for charity thus far and continues to lend a helping hand to those in need across the world. Roger, alongside his colleagues, have played many exhibition matches to raise money for charity, such as the Hit for Haiti in the aftermath of that country's devastating earthquake. He has raised money through his foundation as well. I believe that when he retires, he will get actively involved with his charitable foundation to raise money for humanitarian efforts across the world.

Hi all, I'm new on this forum and I wanted to share some Federer experiences! I've subscribed to the newsletter already :)

1) Rather than list crazy stuff I would do, perhaps some stuff I have already done:

- Use all kinds of weird streaming sites and programs to catch his matches

- Watch him until all hours of the morning, including staying up till 5 am to see his excruciating 5 set loss to Djokovic at the US Open last year, the day before an important exam!!

- Keep all kinds of statistics in notebooks or my laptop, like his career wins to date or records of tournaments won

2) This is going to be really long, and if you are interested to read all of it and want to ask me anything about it after that, go ahead :)

My first real memory watching Federer play is surprisingly, not a Grand Slam victory or Roger making history at another big event. Somehow, the most memorable matches I’ve seen have been epic 5 set losses. When I tuned in for the start of this match, I didn’t know that I’d find myself so emotional after the full story unfolded a good 5 hours later.

I’ve always believed that Roger is not a tennis player. Roger is tennis. He is the game as it was meant to be played, grace and perfection. When first interviewed as a hot headed kid, still smashing racquets and throwing tantrums, Federer explained his self-directed anger with these poignant words – “One should be able to play a perfect game.” And when he matured, he fulfilled his goal and became the very embodiment of perfection. Starting his own chapter in history at Wimbledon 2003, this was now 2009. He stood at 13 Grand Slams, one short of equaling Sampras’ record. 2008 had been torn by mononucleosis, a crushing defeat in the French Open final, and losing the greatest match ever played at Wimbledon, yet salvaged by winning his 13th major at the US Open. Now, he had a chance for his 14th. In Australia. Where Rod Laver would present the winner the trophy. It seemed to be written in the script, that the Rod Laver Arena would be the scene where history would be made.

Everybody knew it, except one man – Rafael Nadal. Federer’s nemesis and a perpetual thorn in his side, Nadal had defeated Federer in 4 Slam finals, 3 on clay and 1 at Wimbledon. Surely he wouldn’t upset Federer on hard court as well? This would mean total domination of supposedly the greatest player ever. Nadal openly admits that Roger is infinitely more skilled than him. His aim has always been to pressure Roger enough such that he plays less than his maximum, allowing Nadal’s brute consistency and bland tennis to prevail. Effective tennis, but boring and unimaginative. To me, the Fedal rivalry has represented the battle of Art and Science in a way – one man attempts to redefine limits and play beautifully, having to struggle with the methodical beast who runs around like Superman all day, waiting for his opponent to commit the error. Roger tries to win the match. Nadal waits for Federer to lose it. It’s that simple.

And yet, it seems that pragmatism always triumphs. Roger did not play badly in this final. It was not a beating by Nadal like we see at Roland Garros. Federer was using his full repertoire of shots, the inside out forehand, the down-the-line single handed backhand, cool drop shots, amazing volleys, improvised flicks of the wrist – he was throwing everything at Nadal. And it just kept coming back. Somehow, in spite of all the break points and spectacular points he’d won, Nadal claimed the first set 7-5.

People claim Rafa is a fighter and that Roger just crumbles. Perhaps that’s true to some extent. But do not underestimate Federer’s fighting spirit. How must he feel, given that he produces every drop of brilliance he can, only to see this relentless Spaniard return every ball back? It’s so easy for him to give up and stop exerting so much effort. But he keeps the good faith, and even though he has lost to Nadal many times, I still see the fire and spirit in their matches. Federer persevered, claiming the second set 6-3. Again, the third set went to the wire, and Roger erred in the tiebreak, losing 7-6 (3). Rafa was one set away from the title.

Like I said, Federer does not give up easily. Fourth set 6-3 to Roger. At this point, I was really excited. I was very disheartened when he lost the third set. It would take a giant effort for Roger to win it in five. And yet, it was happening. Nadal was starting to tire and Federer had the momentum going into the decider. Was Nadal really exhausted from his 5 hour semifinal with Verdasco? Maybe. The stars were aligning again for history to be written by the Swiss. And then, disaster struck.

The pressure from Nadal somehow intensified again. Where did his battered body find energy from? It was unbelievable and Roger couldn’t believe it too. He found himself overwhelmed and it was impossible to resist. Down 5-2, 2 match points for Rafa. I repeat, Federer is not a coward. 2 match points saved. However, he couldn’t keep it up forever. A backhand error on the third match point hands Nadal the victory. Tragedy has struck. I was devastated, but my emotions were about to be stirred much more by what I was going to see.

I don’t know if anyone is still reading at this point, sorry if I’m too long winded or boring. But Roger is really my idol and how I feel is affected by his results and all, and I really appreciate all the different sides of him. Sometimes I feel skeptical when people support Roger. Are they glory hunters just wanting to bask in his 16 Slams? I have been an ardent fan through everything, in fact, I have been watching him more ever since the US Open last year, even though he has not won a major and is being written off. People rave about his beautiful playing style which in my opinion, normally speaks for itself. But what really makes him a legend for me, is one word – emotion. Roger does not shout or throw rackets much but it’s his quiet emotion, the inner struggle concealed from the rest of the world, which sets him apart. The quiet fist pumps, shouts of Allez (Come On in Swiss), and rolling on the floor after winning – those are the moments where the bottled up feelings are released. He’s just so genuine. And human – Rod Laver Arena was about to see the Swiss’ humanity at its peak.

The occasion was just too big for Roger. It unraveled in his runner up speech. He couldn’t control the tears anymore and it just flowed. Everyone was stunned. The crowd cheered even louder. Mirka (his wife) watched in disbelief. Her husband, so often deemed the master of control and calm, had reached his limit. In this moment, it was not only about the tears that were now flowing out of my eyes. Roger Federer just seemed so real, so genuine, so human. For all the allusion to him being a tennis God or the GOAT, he now seemed complete in a human sense – capable of normal human failings and emotion. Some claim that Roger was a spoilsport and took away Nadal’s glory, but if you ask me, this just showed that Federer is a true champion. To me, it is the depth of his emotion that makes him the greatest of all time. His passion and love for tennis is unrivaled, and this was just one instance that proved it.

I could say a lot more but I think I already have and I don’t know if anyone has actually read this to the end! If you have, thanks very much, and I hope this has given you another perspective on Roger’s legacy. This was a really special tennis memory for me, and as it turned out, it was really significant! Later that year, Federer claimed Roland Garros at last, followed by his 15th Slam at Wimbledon. History had been rewritten, and he then became a father. In my opinion, he deserves all the attention and praise heaped on him. He is not just an incredible athlete, he is an extraordinary human being.

3) Interestingly, I think Roger could be a fantastic diplomat! He has that Swiss neutrality and composure, and is not easily pressured by others! Plus he is open minded and rather pacific, and he is genuine in giving his opinions ans answers, always trying to reach a good solution or compromise.

Hi! I'm new to this site which is surprising seeing as I am obsessed with Federer.
1. List down 3 of the most crazy things you'll or can do in order to meet Roger Federer in person? To meet Roger Federer in person I would:
  • Travel to whatever country he happens to be in and pose as a baby sitter so I could meet him. While babysitting I would find Rogers schedule so I could follow him around the world whenever I wanted, Charlene Riva and Myla Rose would also coach me to be a better player and show me some of the tactics that their parents have been bound to show them.
  • I would create a machine that would allow me to travel large distances very quickly (i'm thinking of something that can fly and has propellers) upon creating this amazing, original, machine I would precede to travel to where he is, parachute out (don't worry I have another pilot to fly it around for a bit until I have finished) land right in front of him and ask if I have permission to talk to him.
  • Finally, all though I have many more, I would manage to get into the ATP somehow..and get to meet him, legally this time.
Describe that special moment (in not less than 100 words) when you first saw Roger Federer live on TV or in person?
  • I played a lot of sports when I was younger (i'm 16 now) cricket, football etc. but I only started playing tennis after I watched Federer play during the 2008 Wimbledon Final. I remember I was at a local cricket club and I glanced at the score while passing the clubhouse and Nadal was winning 6-4 6-4 1-1. It instantly saddened me but I carried on playing. A few hours later I went home and I saw the score was 6-7 5th set. I was astonished that he got back into the match, I was also kicking myself for not coming home earlier. I carried on watching the match with my nan who was as bemused as I was at how Federer has managed to do this. Gradually the rest of my family; my brother, my sister and my mum ghosted into the room and started getting as into it as I was. We were all shouting and screeching point after point, game after game. And this is a family who had never played tennis before or watched intently during a match but we all came together as a unit, understood that this match was historic and watched it. Nadal then went on to break Federer 8-7 and despite all my tears and cries served it out while I sat a inch away from the screen. Truly heart broken the next day I realised how much Federer was able to control my emotions without even being aware of my existence. The next weekend I got my first tennis racket and I started playing. Almost four years later tennis is my main sport and love and I owe it all to Federer.
According to you, what will be Roger Federer's next best career than tennis, and why? (Describe in 100 words or more).
  • I have always imagined Federer's next best career other than tennis would be something in government. I wouldn't be surprised if he one day became the president of Switzerland. I believe this is because he is genuinely a really likeable guy, he is very intelligent, open minded and fantastic with people. I mean come on lets face it. Who doesn't love Roger?
