
Halle, Germany, the host of Gerry Weber Open which serves as a Wimbledon warm-up, has named a street in honor of their no.1 Swiss champ.

Since the start of May, Roger Federer Allee, known before as Westrasse which leads to the event’s stadium, became official and today marks the date where the sign is officially erected.
Tournament officials released a letter to Roger Federer about this gesture, in which he said is an “amazing honor” and is “extremely humbled” by this act.
Gerry Weber Open 2012 begins today, June 11 2012, where Roger Federer has a 36-4 event record, winning 29 out of his 30 total matches.
