Roger Federer is one such lucky (thou, fully deserving) sportsman who has had the chance to carry his country's National flag twice at the Opening ceremony of 2004 Athens Olympics & 2008 Beijing Olympics games.

Also, he got this opportunity in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

During the 2008 Olympics, Roger Federer along with Stanislas Wawrinka had won the Gold Medal in the doubles of Beijing Olmypics.

So, every one has been wondering, will Roger Federer become the first ever Tennis player to carry his national flag for the third time at 2012 London Olympics?
But, how ever, going by what he said over the week-end after winning the 2012 Wimbledon, Roger Federer has turned down the chance to carry the Swiss flag for a third straight Olympics, preferring to turn the honourary job over to another athlete when the London games open on Friday 27 July.
"I was offered, but I might give another athlete a chance," said the new No. 1 after winning his seventh Wimbledon final at the weekend over Andy Murray.
After a short, post-Wimbledon vacation, Roger Federer will be concentrating on trying to complete an historic double by winning the Olympic gold medal on the same court where he lifted his Wimbledon honours.
