Here's a small poem written by me paying Tribute to the great Maestro Roger Federer for breaking Pete Sampras record of being No.1 for a record 287th Week

 

 

Thy name is Roger Federer,

Also referred by as his fans as Goderer.

Born in the year of Nineteen Eighty One,

He surely is Tennis world's most peRFect Surgeon.

 

Born in the municipality of Binningen,

Now, million of fans treat him as the substitute of Oxygen.

In his childhood, he had a passion for every sport,

but, he was destined to be the Greatest on Tennis Court.

 

 

His first noticeable victory was against the great Pete Sampras,

As all of us realized he will make a name amongst all Geniuses.

Wimbledon 2003 was his maiden major Title,

As he became Number. 1 ranking entitled.

 

 

His playing style is like a Poetry in Motion,

his Forehand is as strong as Tidal flow of an Ocean.

His serve & backhand slice gives opponents Nightmares,

His fans cannot move their eyes from his moving Hairs.

 

 

He firstly got ATP Ranking No. 1 in February 2004's first week,

That streak lasted for a record mammoth 237 weeks.

Regaining No. 1 ranking after 108 weeks with his amazing finesse,

Is way beyond any one's wildest Profess.

 

 

A former UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador,

To be rated after Nelson Mandela as the most respected Man is truly Spectacular.

He has already marked his fate in the Hall Of Fame,
Wishing him & his family great health, success & achievement of more aims…..

Thy name is Roger Federer,

& Thou surely is the greatest ever.

@anna : Yes, you are 100% right. My dad after he read Rafa poem written by Vibhu, immediately made a G plus account just & only for following Vibhu. This is the sort of impact that nice poetry can have.


All my friends have read these poems at least 10 times & are amazed every time they write, that such brilliant rhyming sequence can be maintained in a poem & that too on Tennis legends.

Thanks Kristina, yesterday, this was a small surprise about which I was talking about, glad you liked it. Actually, started writing on it, seriously today morning at about 3 am Indian Time & by 10 am, I was comfortable, its looking okay, thou, I wanted to add a lot more, but, clearly, I wasn't in my good form
