As reported by the Croatian media, on July 14, Cypriot tennis player Marcos Baghdatis and Croatian tennis player Karolina Sprem got married on 14th July, 2012.

The wedding took place in Croatia, in the chapel of the ancient castle Trakošćan in a very romantic atmosphere.

The wedding was attended by several hundred guests, mostly friends and relatives of the newly weds, including 30 relatives of Baghdatis, who came from Cyprus. The relationship between Baghdatis and Sprem is rumored to have started in 2009.

So, here are a few pics of their fairy tale wedding (with due credit to the source of the pics & the photographers)

At her wedding, her hair fell beautifully in curls that must have taken an hour or two to accomplish. The pair used umbrellas to block the paparazzi from infiltrating their delightful day. It's proof that, even in Croatia when traveling to and fro with a 13th-century castle as the site for your nuptial, decidedly uninvited photographers will be there.

Here's what official Baghdatis posted about the wedding

On Saturday 14 July, Marcos married WTA player Karoline Sprem in an intimate ceremony in Croatia. Marcos described it as, “The happiest day of my life.” The couple are also expecting their first child, due in October.

Moving forward, Marcos will be competing at the London 2012 Olympic Games in two weeks’ time under the guidance of new coach, Yiannos Hajigeorgiou, having parted company with Miles Maclagan following Wimbledon.

Marcos will be the flag bearer for Cyprus at the Opening Ceremony on Friday, 27th July, before representing his nation in the singles competition. The Olympic tennis will be held at Wimbledon.

"I’m excited as it will be different!" said Marcos. "Like playing in another tournament but at the Wimbledon grounds, with different kinds of fans more like Davis Cup. Best-of-three matches are played at the Olympics and that changes a lot. Like the Davis Cup, at the Olympics you don’t play for yourself but for your country. I think it’s a good opportunity to win a medal and if I go to the Olympics just to participate then better not to be there."

talking of baghdatis, the first thing that comes to my mind is the 2006 Aus open final vs Roger Federer & probably, if it hadn't rained during the mid of 2nd set, who knows, what might have happened.
