I'll begin writing this report by firstly putting the video of the match point.

Roger Federer's final shot of the day kissed the net & some how, dribbled over the net & the ball some how, died on the grass as Isner could only watch & curse his luck. Every one sitting in the Centre court was shell-shocked as Federer offered a quick apology to his 6"9' opponent John Isner.

It perhaps was the windiest day of the year & conditions were really tough.

Both players tried to go for quick winners because of the gusty conditions & thus, points & rallies were very short.

As you will see from the match stats ----

The match was very-2 close & as you can see from the above stats, there was only a 3 points difference between these two.

Even during the first set, when Isner was serving on 4-4, on 30-40, Isner made a forehand error which cost him the game & the first set. Isner after that unforced error stomped his chair chewing on his shirt, sat and buried his head in a towel.

Other than these points on which I emphasized above, what really was the main difference between these two was the magical backhand of Roger Federer which was in full flow today.

Also, one more point worth emphasizing was the fact that Roger Federer kept his unforced errors in check in spite of the strong wind.

The final score-line read 6-5, 7-6(5) & in the first Semi-final, Roger Federer will face Del potro (match starts at 12pm BST at centre court),

while DJokovic & Murray will clash in the second semi-final.

Here is what Roger Federer said in the post match presser :::

"Being in the medal matches, at least I'll get two shots," Federer said. "That's why I looked at this match as a final. You can imagine the relief and happiness I feel right now."

"You just feel bad, really -- but relief, because it's finally over," Federer said.

"Maybe I just got really lucky today," he said. "But overall I felt I played a great match. ... I think I'm playing my best. I don't know if you can play a whole lot better."

"It goes against you sometimes; it goes for you sometimes," Isner said. "It's unfortunate, but I'm not going to dwell on it. He was better than me today."

Thou, the real kodak moment of the day, was when Roger Federer told every one in the press conference that he won a match the same way against Ivan Ljubicic in the Miami (Key Biscayne) 2006 final.

"I actually texted Ivan Ljubicic to tell him the same thing happened again," Federer said with a chuckle.

Ha ha, what great memory & what amazing sense of humour, thou, I am sure, Ljubicic would have replied back, mate, get ready, this might also happen against you soon :).

For every one of you, who missed that 2006 Miami final between Federer vs Ljubicic or don't remember that match point, here is the video of the match point -----
