Roger Federer and me

Hello, my name is Marina. I’m from Switzerland. My native language is swiss german, so please bear with my english :)

Infos and pre-story (Warm up)

First of all, I gotta say that I am not a writer, like - at all. So, don’t expect analysis and statistics from me because I can’t and will not do that. I leave that to someone who can do that ;-) What I can do is speak/write from the heart and that’s exactly what I will do.
As like many of you, I’ve been following Roger’s career for many years now. The first time I saw him play was way back in February 2000. I was lucky to get Tickets for free from my former working company. So I went to the Saalsporthalle in Zürich and watched Switzerland play Australia in the Davis Cup.

Before Roger there was only Tennis...

I started watching Tennis from an early age and even after I moved out from my parents house I still watched all the Grand Slams and other tournaments that were showing on TV. I just enjoyed the game.
But the name Roger Federer keeps showing up and I start to try and watch every possible match on TV and I started to cheer only for him and nobody else (before I also cheered for Andy Roddick and Marat Safin).

…now it’s only Roger

In 2003 Roger received the award for „Swiss of the year“ and I was delighted :)
The following years up until today, I watched every possible match. No matter if it’s late in the night, early in the morning or in the middle of the afternoon. When Roger is playing, I will watch!

To the future

I know every reader of RogerFedererFans.com has his/her own story about Roger and I can’t wait to read yours. I can and will go more into detail of my journey with Roger if you would like to read about that.
I will also share my Swiss Indoors experience with you guys and I hope you will share your stories, about how you met Roger somewhere in the world.
Let’s enjoy this wonderful new website that was created for each and everyone of us, to share our stories about Roger, to share tears of joy and all the other good stuff :)

I’m glad that Twitter brought me here. #FedererFamily forever <3

Hey Bianca :)

Yes, been following Roger's career from the beginning, but I honestly think, it really has a lot to do with it, that I am Swiss.
And the Swiss TV always shared informations about how he is playing and of course they always showed his matches and
I was lucky to see him play live already early in his career, no doubt about that :)

And yes, you are right. I still have stuff to share with you guys. And I will - I promise!

I have been watching tennis for the past 26 yr it's was my dad that sat me down told me about tennis
I was 9 first I saw Wimbledon the when i got satellite more slams I watched some great players Agassi,Sampras,McEnroe,
Becker to Nadal and Djokovic but there was one player above all that has just catched my heart.
Roger is just one of those people you could watch doing anything he has this lovely easy going
attitude and looks very approachable with a wonderful smile. I would love to see him play
So my goal this yr is to go to see Roger play sounds sad but it will be my first ever live tennis match
And meet him I may not have seen him live put what I have seen over the last 13 year is a man that truly
Loves the game just as much as we do watching him :D

And I think it's amazing, that you set your goal this year and go and see Roger play Tennis.
You will defenitely not regret it, only to be at this special place - Center Court - sitting between
all this Tennis Fans is simply amazing :)

Oh I can't wait to hear your stories about Wimbledon and/or the Olympics :)
