This is what Roger Federer said after defeating Hasse in the 4th tie of Davis Cup at Amsterdam on Sunday.

So, this for sure, again raises the same question should Roger Federer skip Shanghai Masters or probably withdraw from Bercy considering that Basel, Bercy & WTF are on consecutive weeks?

It is virtually impossible to withdraw from Basel as its his home tournament plus playing in one ATP 500 tournament after US Open is compulsory as per ATP rules & ranking penalty provisions.

So, I will hope, Roger Federer skips Shanghai & tries to defend his 1000 points at Bercy, but, then again, as our Stats Guru Vibhu batra will explain to us, that if he skips Shanghai, then Djokovic if he wins both Beijing & Shanghai will regain ATP No. 1 on 15th October, 2012.

So, what do you guys think?

Roger Federer should

(I) Skip Shanghai Masters?

or (ii) Skip Bercy Masters?

or (iii) Play both??

On 1st October, 2012 at about 23 GMT, Roger Federer on his official Facebook id confirmed about playing in Shanghai Masters, 2012 & this is what he wrote, "Looking forward to going back to China and playing in the Shanghai Rolex Masters. I have always enjoyed China and I can't wait to see my great chinese fans again. See you soon!"

Also, just now, started a poll. I also feel Federer should skip Shanghai, even if that means losing the No. 1 ranking as remaining fit for 2013 should be his priority.

Don't know, what to recommend as I too am wounded, exhausted & tired even more than RF ... Thou, I will hope that Federer skips Bercy as he will need rest before WTF, very hard to think as this year the schedule has been made really hard because of the Olympics...

I do not know, but it is possible to be a difficult decision for Federer...I'd like to see Federer play in the both tournaments,but his health is more important than anything else.

As I just now read in China News web-site, Chinese reporters are reporting that Roger Federer will be reaching Shanghai with his wife Mirka Federer, twin daughters & his mother-in-law.



For the moment, we have to trust the news & it seems, Roger Federer will be playing Shanghai Masters, 2012.




PS: Thou, every one who is saying that organizers have confirmed that Roger Federer is participating at Shanghai Masters, 2012 need to know, that this news has been there from August 30th, 2012 on the Shanghai Masters web-site.

I wont trust any Chinese news ever in my life . I will still wait for Roger Federer's official announcement if he is playing in Shanghai Masters 2012 or not?



All the reports that Roger Federer's hotel rooms, flights were booked on 21st September, 2012 look dubious to me & I will wait for that Dear Fans message to flash on home page or his facebook page before jumping to any conclusion .
