As I explained in my another article, as ATP had sent me a clarification that Basel/Valencia 2011, Bercy Masters, 2011 & World Tour Finals, 2011 will drop-down in the ATP Rankings to be announced on 5th November, 2012.
So, in a few hours time, when ATP announces the rankings & points on 5th November, 2012, the most noticeable change will be that Novak Djokovic would have regained the No. 1 ATP Ranking & Roger Federer would be on the No. 2 ranking position. Yes, you read it right, Roger Federer after completing 302 weeks at ATP #1 or 2116 days (including the 2 extra days because of leap years in 2004 & 2008) will be ranked #2 on 5th November, 2012.
This is how the Ranking points of Top 10 (including Rafael Nadal) will look like when ATP announces rankings on 5th November, 2012. This is just a brief summary, for the exact details on how the ranking points changed from 29th October 2012 to 5th November, 2012, see this detailed post here.
1. Novak Djokovic: 11420 points (Many people asked me why he got a zero points for Valencia & Basel as well, simple reason Djokovic being a TOP 30 commitment player for 2011 didn't complete the commitment of playing at least 4 ATP-500 tournaments, Olympics is not part a commitment of those 4 ATP-500 tournaments that a Top 30 commitment player needs to fulfill).
2. Roger Federer : 9465 points {yes, for the first time, in ATP open-era History, a player (Roger Federer) is losing 3000 ATP points from his last ranking points,if curious to know the reasons, detailed explanation here}
3. Andy Murray: 7600 points
4. Rafael Nadal: 6795 points (Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from World Tour Finals, 2012 because of knee injury)
5. David Ferrer : 6030 points (updated after his fantastic final victory over Jerzy Janowicz at Bercy Paris Masters, 2012)
6. Tomas Berdych : 4405 points
7. Juan Martin Del Potro : 4080 points
8. Jo-WilFried Tsonga: 3490 points
9. Janko Tipsarevic: 2990 points
10. Richard Gasquet : 2520 points (Richard Gasquet is the stand-by player at World Tour Finals site, if any of the 8 players gets injured, Gasquet will play in their place & as Tipsarevic retired from the quarter-finals of Bercy Masters, 2012 vs Janowicz, so Gasquet has an outside chance of playing at World Tour Finals, 2012 as a replacement).
